Acoustic Feather models use a thin responsive film that picks up and amplifies vibration of the sound board for a natural reproduction of tone. With newly improved feedback resistance, weighing less than a penny, won't dampen the acoustic response of the guitar. Using a preamp is recommended with the Acoustic Feather.
The disc models are our origional soundboard transducers that are very similar in tone to the feather models only with more gain. The disc provides natural tonal reproduction when mounted in the sweet spot, just behind the bass end of the bridge on most instruments. It is also unique in its versatility and can be used on a variety of unusual folk instruments which are generally difficult to amplify while keeping sound quality in tact. Often a pre amp is not needed with this model. The disc can also be used in combination with our feather models for the optimum in complete sound reproduction.
